E-ticket
E-ticket
Since June 1st 2008, traditional paper tickets have been withdrawn from use. Currently only e-tickets are sold. E-ticket (e-tix) is a record in an airline reservation system. A passenger receives only confirmation which includes name, reservation number and route. E-ticket can be issued anywhere in the world and the passenger does not need to collect it at the airport.
E-ticket allows on-line and mobile check-in.
Advantages of e-tickets:
- Cannot be lost or stolen,
- A passenger does not need to remember to take it with them,
- It does not need to be collected nor send by a courier – a passenger receives e-mail confirmation (Trip Summary and Receipt), which includes all necessary information,
- It suffices to show a valid passport while ticket check-in and the boarding pass is given on that basis. Presenting a confirmation speeds up the process,
- It saves paper and the environment at the same time
- It saves time and limits the paperwork.
